Practical and convenient, kibble is one of the most popular solutions when it comes to choosing dog food. But what should be added to the dog’s kibble to make his food more appetizing? Let’s see.
High quality kibble
There are many reasons for choosing dry food over moist food. First of all, kibble is definitely cheaper and is also sold in economy size. This does not mean, however, that you have to choose the least expensive product: when it comes to food, quality must always be in the first place! Kibble is much richer in protein and you can choose the type that best suits your furry friend. There are all kinds of kibble: from those for puppies to those for seniors. For every age the right kibble! Poor quality kibble should be avoided and, often, cheap kibble contains high amounts of sugars and salts, not exactly the best for your dog. After weaning, you can start to give your puppy the right amount of dry food, perhaps with a little lukewarm water to make the kibble softer. Certainly, the moist food is tastier and more delicious to our furry friends and, therefore, you can add some to the meal.
What can we add to the kibble?
To make the kibble more appetizing it will be enough to add something tasty that will certainly tempt your dog to finish, in no time, his entire dose of food. Slurp! Convenient and easy to find are the moist products, the cans. Just a teaspoon mixed with kibble and the dish is served! On the market you can find different qualities and types: always choose the best for your dog. Prefer foods that contain protein, vitamins and fiber. You can choose moist foods based on fish or white meat with vegetables or fruit. Alternatively, you can also use products from your own table, such as a little (natural) broth to add to the kibble, or some minced meat or boiled vegetables. Always try to balance the ingredients well to avoid messing up your dog’s diet. Much more delicate than us, in fact, dogs suffer from drastic and quick dietary changes. It is always good to pass from one diet to another gradually. The same applies, therefore, to changes of kibble: before replacing them completely, mix the usual one with the new one so that your pet can get used to it without being affected.
